The entire City Of Leeds programme would like to congratulate the City Of Leeds Basketball Academy on securing their second title in 4 days today with top spot in the North I Conference.
Following today's confirmed result against the Spen Valley Vipers, it has been mathematically guaranteed that the City Of Leeds Basketball Academy have been crowned Champions of the Basketball England U18 Men North I Conference for the 2023/24 season.
This achievement means that the Academy will now take their place in the Promotional Playoff bracket for the chance to retake a spot in the U18 Premier Division for next season.
With 3 games still to play in the regular-season, COLBA Head Coach Matt Newby was delighted to have confirmed a second league championship in 4 days for the Academy:
Following this weekend’s results, I am really pleased to confirm that our 2023/24 Academy cohort have doubled down on league championships, having won the JNL U18 North I Conference with 3 games still remaining to play.
This is a reflection of our players’ investment in themselves and the programme and we look forward to competing in the post-season playoffs, with the aim of returning to the U18 Premier Division. A huge thanks to our parents and guardians for their support over the year, and we are excited to close out the season, where we will have to be at our best to ensure promotion on two fronts."
