COMMUNITY SESSIONS

The City Of Leeds Community Basketball sessions are open sessions for young people (boys and girls) between the ages of 5 and 18.

Our experienced coaches focus on creating a fun environment where the aspects of fundamental movement, are blended with activities and games with the core skills of basketball as a focus. It is our aspiration and aim to engage young people and provide educational opportunities specific to the sport.

The key areas of shooting, dribbling, passing and footwork are developed, with the children getting the opportunity to apply these skills in games. The sessions duration is usually 1 hour and 30 minutes and is divided in to 3 segments focusing on skill development, small sided games and match play.

Sessions are up-tempo, exciting and fun with a view to instilling a passion for the sport.  Young people who excel and are identified as talented in these sessions, will be sign posted to start with of our junior national league performance pathway.
