Sam messam

Sam has been at the club for over 6 seasons, working across several age groups and brings a wealth of experience from both on the court, and in the academic domain.  

 

Sam has been recently appointed as the Basketball England Talent Programme and Pathway Manager. In his new role at BE, Messam will be at the forefront of improving and developing Basketball England’s Talent system and networks, working within the player pathway, Aspire and GB Youth programmes. 

 

He has extensive experience in youth basketball, coaching the Yorkshire Regional squads at every level (U13, U15 and U17) and working within the GB performance pathway. 

 

He currently holds the UKCC Level 4 Coaching certification, is due to graduate in the 2022 class from the FIBA FECC programme, and is completing his PHD in Elite Coaching Practice. This high level academic underpinning, coupled with close to decade of experience as a senior lecturer and coach educator, makes Coach Messam a valuable asset to the club.
