Heading to the playoffs: U14 Girls

COLBC is delighted to confirm that our U14 Girls Gold squad will be heading to the post-season after finishing 3rd in the North 1 Conference.

Coach Ben Allen's U14 Girls Gold team enjoyed an exciting season together as a group and their hard work will see them rewarded with a place in the 2022/23 playoffs to compete against some of the best teams in their age group nationally.

The girls will travel to face North 2 Conference champions Sheffield Hatters on Saturday at 14:00, hoping to pick up a win and advance through to the playoff quarter-finals.

Coach Allen was elated with his team's collective achievement:

"I am so very proud of the work ethic and dedication that each and every one of the players have shown throughout this season. The maturity in their game is apparent, setting high standards for themselves and being role models for the younger female players in the program. Getting through to the playoffs is testament to how far the team has come from the previous season! None of this would be possible without the support network of their friends, family and the sacrifice for each other! I see bright things in the future for this cohort of young players!"

COLBC Director Matt Newby echoed Coach Allen's appreciation for the girls' efforts this season"

"It's great to see the U14 Girls extend their successful season with a playoff bid. The young women across the U14 categories have flourished this year under Coach Ben Allen and the future is bright. We now have record numbers of girls across the club and these young players are already inspiring the younger girls around them."

Everyone at COLBC wants to wish the U14 Girls Gold the very best for the game this weekend... Let's go Leeds!
