Former COLBA Allerton High School star Danny Evans has been named on the Leeds Power List 2021: The 31 most influential people in the city.

Having just been named to the LEB Plata team of the week in Spain, Danny was in strong spirits when hearing the news of making the list saying:

“I feel honoured and humbled to be named alongside some unbelievable people from my hometown. I’m excited to get to work on the ideas and plans I have in my city in the future.”

COLBC Director and COLBA Head Coach Matt Newby was quick to praise Danny’s achievements both on and off the court:

“This is a great accolade for Daniel and it reflects his well rounded approach and character both in life and sports.

He is very understated when he talks about his successes and achievements. His humility and humbleness are strong traits which will ensure that he remains at the forefront of whatever he sets his mind too, both on and off the court.

He strives for excellence and this has seen him represent his country at nearly every age category, attain a scholarship to both prep school and college in the USA, and embark on a professional basketball career.

Additionally, he has also applied this mindset and incredible social conscience to affect change in our region and nationally. Danny was instrumental in the coordination of the BLM campaign and protests in West Yorkshire and has been a force for change in turbulent times. He is a credit to both the City of Leeds Basketball Programme and the City of Leeds Basketball Academy and an inspirational figure to the students of Allerton High Schools as an Alumni.”

Everyone at the club would like to share in congratulating Danny and wishing him the best for the rest of his season with CB Villarrobledo.
