COACH BROWNE IS BACK AND FOCUSED ON DEVELOPMENT

September 16th 2021

COLBC are delighted to announce that Marcus Browne has committed to the programme for the 2021/22 season and will be leading the U16 Boys development team.

He has been with the club for 5 seasons and will be working closely with Coach Messam to develop the U16 tier of the programme.

He has recently completed his Basketball England level 3 coaching certification and has worked on several levels of the regional pathway with West Yorkshire and Yorkshire.

Marcus is a very talented graffiti artist and has been commissioned to design and deliver a number of projects on outdoor courts around the country.  Currently he is the head coach of the Leeds Beckett University Men's and Women's basketball teams.

Marcus commented on his return:

"It's good to be moving forward with the season. The players and coaches have missed out on so much over the last 15 months and the opportunity to work with coach Sam Messam across the U16 tier is greatly appreciated. The upcoming season will be one where I focus on the development of the players and apply my own learning and experiences."

COLBC Director Matt Newby gave comment on the good news:

"Marcus is a dedicated coach who has gone from strength to strength throughout his tenure with the club. He has an appetite to improve and works incredible hard to get the best from his players."
